Song and Doodle #68

This weeks song and doodle is from a new/old band that I discovered the other day. I stumbled upon THIS video, which was basically life changing. Ever since then I've been obsessing over the band The Ace of Cups. They have only one album out right now and its been on repeat for a week now. I just can't get over how relevant these songs are even today. Its kind of scary how we're fighting the same battles that our sisters did in the 60s and before then. Seems like for women especially the battle is never ending. It is definitely emotionally empowering to hear ladies like this and know that we are all in this together. Even though things aren't changing the sisterhood bond is an amazing one that we all need to be reminded of from time to time. I'm not sure if I'm just super into sixties music lately is why it feels so impactful but I'm having some self discoveries with in this album and its sort of amazing for my soul. The song Glue is my favorite off the album. Have a listen and don't forget to BUY IT. It's bad for you but buy it!
"No you can’t have the glue until you buy. A model too yeah baby (at Madison Avenue)
And the model is nine to five, Too many bees in one big hive"

August Art Journal (kinda)

I knew that the month of August I wouldn't have enough time to do a normal art journal. I thought I could do a mini one or just a sketchy one. BUT I knew that if I did have any time I would feel so unmotivated and uninspired to do anything creative. So instead I decided to do a Venn diagram! Lots of events that were huge in my life took place so I for sure wanted to document it all. I thought this would be the perfect way to separate the good, the bad and things that were good/bad. I will definitely be doing more of these! It was super fun to work on and I was able to just take my time. I love the way it turned out and I'm very happy that I don't have a month missing from my collection!
Life is getting a bit more under control. Hopefully I have more positive and interesting things to share this coming fall!

Lovely Things: Flowers!

I've been holding on to the post for a while now. It made it back in the day when I had time to just peruse the internet and look at cute things! Oh how I miss those days. Always I'm a huge sucker for flowers and floral patterns. I joke that I'm going to have floral wallpaper in my house, but mark my words it is happening! (One day!) I think most people like flowers, I mean whats not to like. They're pretty, smell good and occasionally have bugs in them. As someone who recently is loving bugs its a win, win win! I'm getting off my lazy blogger butt today and I hope you find this collection of lovely things lovely! If not I might have to start calling it something else!?
I love THIS post about a Frida inspired wedding! I LOOOVE the idea of huge floral crowns! Its the kinda wedding dreams are made out of!
I'm always in awe of people who can make paper flowers look like the real thing. Definitely adding this book on to the list of must haves. One day I hope I can take a flower making class!
I'm in love with THIS planner and still planner obsessed even though I kinda stink at following though on mine. I'll still stick with the theory that you can never have too many planners!
THIS paper garland is amazing. I love the idea of using patterned paper! It adds a beautiful amount of texture.

All my pen pals are showing off their new portfolio bags and I want one so badly! I know I don't need one. I don't write letters on the go that much, but I just adore THIS jungly leaf pattern. I love organization bags! Which is ironic since I'm very slightly unorganized all the time.

So many lovely things, never enough money to buy them all!
